Julian Castro Doesn’t Speak Spanish

San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, last night’s keynote speaker at the DNC, does not speak Spanish. I only listened to part of his speech, turning it off when I started to get nauseous. He claimed that each day his mother would tell he and his twin brother “Que dios los bendiga,” which means “God bless you,” when they left for school. It seemed plausible enough when I heard it. Unfortunately, it’s probably not true.

According to The Daily Caller:

Castro’s mother, Rosie, rarely spoke Spanish to her children, emphasizing mastery of English instead.

When Rosie Castro attended school in San Antonio, the teachers “would charge us a quarter if you were caught speaking Spanish, and incidentally that’s how much lunch cost,” she told CNN.

Even more revealing is the history of Julian Castro, as reported in an article at Breitbart News yesterday, prior to Castro’s keynote speech.

…while Obama’s radicalism may have escaped the notice of the DNC in 2004, Castro’s views are bit more transparent.

Indeed, he, along with his twin, Joaquin, currently running for Congress, learned their politics on their mother’s knee and in the streets of San Antonio. Their mother, Rosie helped found a radical, anti-white, socialist Chicano party called La Raza Unida (literally “The Race United”) that sought to create a separate country—Aztlan—in the Southwest.

You can read the rest here. It’s a rather lengthy piece, but quite revealing.

Dana Loesch has a good synopsis in a companion post at Big Government, Meet the New Obama: San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro. Here, she quotes Rosie Castro:

“When I grew up I learned that the ‘heroes’ of the Alamo were a bunch of drunks and crooks and slaveholding imperialists who conquered land that didn’t belong to them. But as a little girl I got the message — we were losers. I can truly say that I hate that place and everything it stands for.”

Once again, we learn that the Democrats like to promote people with false narratives regarding their background and beliefs. Barack Obama has certainly set the standard in that regard.
