Sarah Palin Rips the GOP!

From her Facebook page today:

Please take a look at the article linked below to understand how the amnesty bill the Senate passed yesterday is a sad betrayal of working class Americans of every ethnicity who will see their wages lowered and their upward mobility lowered too. And yet we still do not have a secured border. This Senate-approved amnesty bill rewards lawbreakers and won’t solve any problems – as the CBO report notes that millions of more illegal immigrants will continue to flood the U.S. in coming years.

Great job, GOP establishment. You’ve just abandoned the Reagan Democrats with this amnesty bill, and we needed them to “enlarge that tent” of which you so often speak. It’s depressing to consider that the House of Representatives is threatening to pass some version of this nonsensical bill in the coming weeks.

Once again, I’ll point out the obvious to you: it was the loss of working class voters in swing states that cost us the 2012 election, not the Hispanic vote. Legal immigrants respect the rule of law and can see how self-centered a politician must be to fill this amnesty bill with favors, earmarks, and crony capitalists’ pork, and call it good. You disrespect Hispanics with your assumption that they desire ignoring the rule of law.

Folks like me are barely hanging on to our enlistment papers in any political party – and it’s precisely because flip-flopping political actions like amnesty force us to ask how much more bull from both the elephants in the Republican Party and the jackasses in the Democrat Party we have to swallow before these political machines totally abandon the average commonsense hardworking American. Now we turn to watch the House. If they bless this new “bi-partisan” hyper-partisan devastating plan for amnesty, we’ll know that both private political parties have finally turned their backs on us. It will then be time to show our parties’ hierarchies what we think of being members of either one of these out-of-touch, arrogant, and dysfunctional political machines.

Sarah, I couldn’t agree with you more. In addition, I also agree with the following sentiment, per Twitter:

The link tells you this:

Hello, this is Sarah Palin calling to urge you to go to the polls on Election Day, or better yet, vote early. We have a critical choice to make this year and America needs leaders who believe in limited government, individual liberty, a robust national defense, stronger families, the sanctity of life and marriage, and time-honored values. Our nation is at a crossroads. So please go to the polls and vote for the candidates who share your common-sense values. Urge your friends and family to vote, too. Thank you and God bless you!

Notice the absence of references to Mitt. She’s correct!

It doesn’t matter who’s running, we just can’t re-elect Obama!

I talked about it today on my show.

Further Grist for the Mill – Update!

Only 2 Years!

That’s it, 2 years! You might get more, but that’s never a given.

In 2 years, Obama gave us the Stimulus and Obamacare. Sure, he had a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate and a majority in the House, but the point is that he was able to pass major legislation, without bipartisan support. To the good of…..whom?

In 2 years, Sarah Palin gave the State of Alaska AGIA, ACES and much more. Just these two initiatives raised the standard of living in Alaska, benefiting ALL residents. Moreover, she did it with bipartisan support!

The record is clear. Folks, it is possible to change the direction of government to benefit ALL of us. It just takes the vision and commitment!

Inspiring Video Bio of Mitt Romney

(Scroll down for updates)

One of the things that struck me about this video is the concept of payback and service. The great industrialists of our country, Carnegie, Ford, Rockefeller and others, took up a moral imperative to share their wealth in an attempt to solve some of our country’s greatest social dilemmas. Whether it was eliminating poverty or instructing people about how to leverage capitalism for a larger benefit, they established foundational trusts to carry on their concerns after they had passed.

Mitt Romney, on the other hand, while having achieved great wealth, is willing to invest something even more precious to the benefit of our nation: his time. The greatest philanthropists in the history of our country weren’t able or interested in doing that. Mitt is a remarkably notable exception, willing to bring his business expertise and success to the benefit of our troubling times, through service to our nation.

This truly is an inspiring video and I hope it’s uplifting to you as well.

I must admit that I have not always been a supporter of Mitt Romney, but today, after watching the GOP Convention conclude last night, I can only hope that he’s the right man at the right time. I pray that he doesn’t let me down!

UPDATE, 9-01-2012:

Now that the euphoria of the moment has left me, I’m reminded of THIS. How do I support a candidate that deliberately moved to silence my voice? Something else is bothering me as well. During the entire GOP Convention, we were feted with speeches from numerous young, conservative women of the GOP. Why was there absolutely no mention of the first female to be nominated as the Republican candidate for Vice President in 2008, Sarah Palin?

I’m starting to think that Mark America is on the right track, both here and here.

Governor Palin and Fox News in Contract Dispute?

New York Magazine reported yesterday about the odd and sudden disappearance of Sarah Palin from the Fox News line-up on Wednesday evening.

Essentially, Palin and Fox are in the early stages of an elaborate contract negotiation. Palin earns roughly $1 million per year from Fox, making her the highest paid contributor at the network. Fox executives have been disappointed with her ratings; Palin has been disappointed by Fox’s decision to not give her top billing on bookings. According to sources, the relationship at times has gotten so bad that much communication has been conducted via Palin’s husband Todd.

Palin’s Facebook outburst surely didn’t endear her to Roger Ailes, who prizes message discipline and loyalty among his troops.

[–]

For now, both sides are making peace. Fox offered an olive branch this afternoon and returned Palin to the conversation via a phone interview with Megyn Kelly. Later tonight, she’ll be on with Sean Hannity and Neil Cavuto.

As Ed Morrissey notes at Hot Air:

Well, that cuts both ways, does it not? Palin posted her Facebook “outburst” in response to a large amount of curiosity as to why she’d been removed from the air. Did Ailes believe that no one would notice if Palin the political correspondent suddenly stopped being present during one of the two biggest political events of the year? It’s a little presumptuous to think that Palin would maintain “message discipline” after being dumped from the programming.

Governor Palin brings a lot of conservative, grassroots credibility to Fox News in terms of influence with the Tea Party. It would be extremely odd for Fox News to throw that away during this important campaign season.
